I can never make the hole through the bead without ruining it. How do you do it? Is there a special tool I should get?

melissa, the trick is to leave them alone for an hour or two, so the clay get firm up and will hold the shape better. Leaving them overnight is an ideal but who could wait that long. LOL
I use double point knitting needle size 0000. It glides through the beads pretty good. i just try to poke stright through, then pull the needle out, flip the bead over and poke through the other side.

I've been making jewelry for a little more than a year but just started with polymer.

You have a great blog. Thanks for the tutorials.

Love your beads! Did you use a plastic bead shaper? You have given me lots of inspiration as I have just started with polymer. Can't believe how many variations you have made with just a few colours. Many thanks for sharing. Think I will soon become a polymer addict.

Dear beadmad
Personally, I do not use and do not like the bead roller, I roll my beads between the palms of my hand and they come out as round as they can be.
You will be addicted to clay in no time.... Goodluck.
